His Excellency Mr Aymen Tawfiq Almoayyed, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs affirmed that the upcoming strategy of MYS will focus on enhancing the relationship with the national clubs as main partners to develop the Bahraini sports, identifying strong links to connect them to MYS’ vision aiming to uplift the national clubs body and its sport structure, which will affect the turn-around-time of the administrative and development work in the national clubs.

 

This came part of the statement His Excellency Minister of Youth & Sport Affairs delivered as he received Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of East Riffa Club.

 

His Excellency Minister of Youth & Sport Affairs added “national clubs are in the center of our focus and the main purpose of our work and a top priority for us as it represents the core foundation of the growth and development of the sports sector; they are also the base to launch the development plan of the Bahraini Sports sector and we remain committed to support the programs and plans of clubs that aim seriously to develop their operations through clear visions and goals in light of the available resources allocated for each of them.”

 

He continued “we see in East Riffa Club a clear example of development and growth, the Club enjoys a sparkling legacy in supporting the Bahraini sports sector and boosting the national sports with many talents. We also see that East Riffa Club is one of the outstanding clubs that are managed by a great professional mind and an enlightened administration team which was demonstrated in the quantum leap the Club made in its admin and technical performance, in addition the Club’s commitment to pay the players’ salaries on time without any delay as well as its commitment to honoring its contracts with the players.”

 

His Excellency Minister of Youth & Sport Affairs commended the keenness of Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and East Riffa Club’s board members to enhance the admin and technical structure on the various levels.

 

The meeting discussed ways to execute the national initiative ‘Istijaba’ launched by Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and its positive impact on the national clubs; the meeting also discussed the new building that the Ministry will construct for the Club.

 

His Excellency Minister of Youth & Sport Affairs also discussed with East Riffa Club’s Chairman recommendations and ideas related to future investment opportunities for the club and ideal ways to exploit its assets, in addition to the future plans for the sports teams, its development to ensure the competitiveness level of the club. The meeting also tackled the relation between government support to national clubs and the achievements realized, East Riffa Club’s Chairman proposed an idea to establish national clubs in the form of commercial companies to support boosting the Bahraini sports and focus on sports as a profession.

 

For his part, East Riffa Club’s Chairman commended the openness of His Excellency Minister of Youth & Sport Affairs to the national clubs and his efforts in making them a priority for the sports sector in Bahrain which affirms the professionalism in managing and planning for the next phase. He noted that eh advanced ideas presented by His Excellency Minister of Youth & Sport Affairs will make the sports sector more advanced and give national clubs more strength to uplift its work. He reiterated the club’s keenness to maintaining communication with the Ministry to ensure the execution of the Club’s plans and programs.
